where is the British Bulldog now

Where is the British Bulldog now?

The British Bulldog, Davey Boy Smith was born in Golborne , North West England. The British Bulldog started his career here in England competing on ITV's world of sport under the ring name Young David.
Here is some hard to find footage of his match against Fit Finley

After The British bulldog had finished on world of sport he moved to new Japan Wrestling where the British Bulldogs were born! They were one of the brightest new wrestler groups in the promotion and even attracted attention from the WWE scouts.
Check out some footage from 1984 here

The bulldogs also wrestled with promotion 'stampede wrestling' which was later bought out by WWE, they also bought the name rights to call them 'The British Bulldog'. There first spell in WWE on lasted 4 years after they were having back stage problems after pulling a few pranks on some of the other WWE wrestlers.
They returned to All Japan Pro Wrestling for two years before coming back to the WWE, Look at some interview footage of the British Bulldog at WWF RAMPAGE , which was part of the European Tour , this is from sheffield

In his second spell in the WWE The British Bulldog's highlight was to be back in england where at summer slam 1992 at Wembley Stadium, in front of 80,000 people, The British bulldog , won the Intercontinental Championship. His famous match where he was accompanied to the ring by heavyweight boxer Lenox Lewis

The British Bulldog was getting tired of not being a main event wrestler, so he left the WWE for the second time to pursue a career in WCW. His WCW career only lasted a year after he had an altercation with a man in a bar after he was making advantages towards his wife. The WCW scared of being sued and having bad media , released him from his contract.
His a little bit of action from his WCW days

After spending a little time in british based promotions he decided to re join the WWE for a 3rd time! This time he lasted 3 years at the WWE winning various titles and becoming more more popular. Again after 3 years the bulldog decided to join WCW for another short spell , joining up with his old tag team partner. After a year into his contract the bulldog was injured and was out for a month , not only that a stunt including a trap door made the British Bulldog fall on his back. This lead to a spinal infection and threatened to paralyze him. After spending 6 months in hospital the British Bulldog had a fed ex sent to him, telling him that his WCW contract had been terminated.

This lead to his final wrestling contract with the WWE, from 1999 to 2000 he had a brief spell, here is one of his matches against the late great Eddie Guerrero

Sadly after an addiction to pain killers his WWE contract was terminated by the end of 2000, above was one of his last matches along with his last championship in london at earls court

Smith died on May 18, 2002, after suffering a heart attack while on vacation in Invermere, British Columbia with his girlfriend, Bruce Hart's estranged wife Andrea Redding. He was 39 years old.
